Try purging you cache and see if you get the thumbnails back. If you have cache exported to folders you have to delete cache folder by folder with Tools/Cache/purge cache for xxxx folder. Otherwise use preferences/cache/purge

uhanepono Jan 20, 2013 4:06 PM (in response to Curt Y)Thanks Curt. That did the trick. I had forgotten about that. So now I am down to the missing icons and will head over to the other thread about that to look for solace. I will lurk here now and then to see if any new updates are offered or fixes presented. Thanks again, Aloha, Uhane

442. Re: Photoshop CS6 suddenly a trial version of Extended.
q38 Jan 20, 2013 4:14 PM (in response to Curt Y)Might be related to the lost graphics: Since the updates, I have had a first instance of the bounding box disappearing when an image is transformed or rotated larger than its original size. The cursor shapes still changed to indicate hot fields like corners, but no visible outline. After doing several images "blind", I relaunched Photoshop and it restored normal operation. Might be a graphic problem, have you tried turning off all GPU assist in the preferences? Photoshop may still be clobbering its own memory with some variable reaching memory past asssumed limits, these are very difficult bugs to find.
Thanks Adobe for your continued work on debugging. Photoshop is so powerful as is, I would vote for more focus now on stability and less on new features, for example in CS6 I can record a divide in an action, but it shows up in the record as Calculation: <unknown> even though it will execute correctly.

Creativebush Jan 20, 2013 4:25 PM (in response to uhanepono)Sorry, the only reason to get the IT dept involved was because they hold all the serial numbers which I had to enter after installing the 13.04 update.

444. Re: Photoshop CS6 suddenly a trial version of Extended.
uhanepono Jan 20, 2013 4:28 PM (in response to q38)me too me too I vote for stability. The last 2 updates were unusable and required a reinstall. I am back to 13.01, the last stable update for my config. and happy for now.

Curt Y Jan 20, 2013 4:40 PM (in response to uhanepono)I find it amusing that most say they would vote for stability over new features. Yet when the updates to the Cloud Subscription came out and included several updates the perpetual licence holder did not get there was a huge demand "I want those features also". And ironically the update was riddled with errors.

446. Re: Photoshop CS6 suddenly a trial version of Extended.
uhanepono Jan 20, 2013 5:09 PM (in response to Curt Y)Hi Curt. Looking at the history and why history informs and can change our votes; the first update for cloud people was 13.1. At that time there was 13.01 for us full license folks. After that there have been no more cloud-only updates, only 13.02, 13.03 and now 13.04. 13.01 and 13.02 were stable and so everyone went about their business as usual. 13.03 was the nasty one and so, of course we change our votes to more stability and fewer new elements to have to integrate until after the current bugs are solves.

uhanepono Jan 21, 2013 8:15 PM (in response to Chris Cox)Thanks Chris, Curious - what new features were in that 13.1.2 update? I have not seen about that one. I still rest with voting for more stability and fewer new features at this point in the game. May change once all the glitches are ironed out. I have reinstalled PSCS6 and updated to the most recent updates again and tommorrow, when I have time, will see how it performs. Maybe all the glitches will have been ironed out, (except for the icon debackle). (thanks for your posting to the thread @photoshop.com BTW) will test and report back here and @photoshop.com. IN the Am after finishing some other scripts. Aloha, Uhane

SarahMc 72 Jan 22, 2013 7:35 AM (in response to Chris Cox)Hi Chris. I have a PC...Windows. There is no update for me, it seems, outside of 13.01. I am completely up to date and apparently only have 20 days left of my "trial". I bought this Photoshop CS6 Extended to do an online course...if it suddenly disappears, I fail and owe my boss a few hundred dollars for the course. When will I get an update to fix this problem? They have one for Mac users, just not for me. Do you have any idea when we will get one? Thanks Sarah

SarahMc 72 Jan 22, 2013 7:45 AM (in response to Jeffrey Tranberry)I don't know what this creative cloud is, but I am a Windows user and I have 20 days left on my "trial" (I purchased CS6 Extended from the campus store). If this runs out and I don't have a solution, I fail this course. I am getting very upset every morning seeing it is suddenly a "trial". Please tell me how I can get this fixed. thank you...Sarah

452. Re: Photoshop CS6 suddenly a trial version of Extended.
Jeffrey Tranberry Jan 22, 2013 7:48 AM (in response to SarahMc 72)Hi Sarah, you should be able to select "License this Software" on the trial screen and enter your serial #/sign-in to activate.
What version of Windows are you running? are you using a 64bit version of Windows?

453. Re: Photoshop CS6 suddenly a trial version of Extended.
uhanepono Jan 22, 2013 11:11 AM (in response to SarahMc 72)Hi Sara, If re-licencing does not work (like it did not for me and you are in a jam -reinstall your CS6 and the trial pop up will also resey to give you more time and adobe more time to fix it. entereing the license over and over every day did not reset the trial popup nor get rid of it. I am on a mac but the principle is, most likely the same. Alos give adobe all your system info so they can find a speedier fix for you.

livinginthepast3 Jan 23, 2013 7:21 AM (in response to Jeffrey Tranberry)Like others with this issue, I ran the update but the trial version continued. Also like others, I had to re-enter my serial number to re-license the software to resolve the issue.

SarahMc 72 Jan 23, 2013 7:22 AM (in response to Jeffrey Tranberry)Hello Jeff...thank you for responding. I was in a panic. I am using 32 bit XP. I believe I still have my key Adobe provided when I entered my serial number online. I'll try that when I go home tonight (box at home).
Thanks again for responding so quickly.

Jeffrey Tranberry Jan 23, 2013 7:39 AM (in response to SarahMc 72)Hi Sarah,
Cool. Let us know how it goes. You should be able to find your serial with your Adobe account using your Adobe ID. It will be in a section called My Products.

KirstyMc Jan 26, 2013 11:04 AM (in response to Jeffrey Tranberry)Hi Jeffrey
I'm a windows 64 bit standalone photoshop user. The version shown on my photoshop "about" screen is 13.0.1 and update manager tells me this is fully up to date. I'm still entering my serial number every time I launch.
Any news when windows 64 bit might get sorted?
Thanks

smei_ch Feb 3, 2013 9:43 AM (in response to SarahMc 72)Needed some time for the upgrade because I had to finish some work before, and can't afford any more trouble. Works so far.
BUT: I will not forget how I was treated by Adobe support! This, and the pressure to move to a cloud model (which I will never do!) really makes me think....

merrymonk Feb 8, 2013 5:14 AM (in response to Jeffrey Tranberry)Hi Jeff,
Is there any news on a fix for Windows 64 bit users. It is extremely frustrating having to repeatedly enter the serial number.
Thanks in anticipation.

470. Re: Photoshop CS6 suddenly a trial version of Extended.
Waker13 Feb 10, 2013 6:45 AM (in response to Jeffrey Tranberry)As smart as Adobe folks are, it doesn't make sense for it to take this long to correct a bug in the download. I question what resources Adobe has devoted to this issue.

471. Re: Photoshop CS6 suddenly a trial version of Extended.
castl1 Feb 10, 2013 8:34 AM (in response to Waker13)I have Adobe updates waiting (10.4 being most worrisome). I did allow
installation of the 5D Mark iii issue-resolver (we hope). Everything has
been working for weeks now since I reverted to 10.1 and I hate to risk
reopening a boxful of nightmares. So I'm letting those other updates idle
in my task bar.

472. Re: Photoshop CS6 suddenly a trial version of Extended.
castl1 Feb 10, 2013 8:36 AM (in response to Waker13)Correction, make that 13.0.1.
-
473. Re: Photoshop CS6 suddenly a trial version of Extended.
Chris Cox Feb 10, 2013 11:39 AM (in response to castl1)13.0.4 and 13.1.2 did correct this issue for the most common cause (a bug which only affected 13.0.2,13.0.3,13.1.0, 13.1.1).
13.0.1 didn't have that bug, or any known widespread problems with activation - but there could be something else going wrong with activation in any version (like corrupt files).

474. Re: Photoshop CS6 suddenly a trial version of Extended.
ISeward Feb 10, 2013 12:42 PM (in response to Chris Cox)I have CS6 installed on my laptop and desktop, both Win64. My desktop version suddenly turned into CS6 extended trial. I have tried entering my serial number but it says I have used all my licences!!!
How do I get CS6 working on my desktop?
I see in this forum that this issue has been going for 1 month - What is Adobe doing about it? Please just issue users with new licences numbers that work, and put an end to this nonsense.

castl1 Feb 10, 2013 12:49 PM (in response to Chris Cox)So do I install 13.0.4?

Chris Cox Feb 10, 2013 2:03 PM (in response to ISeward)We released an update to fix it - a couple of weeks ago.

KirstyMc Feb 10, 2013 2:06 PM (in response to Chris Cox)Hi Chris - still trying to be nice, but I've had to enter my serial number 5 times today (win 7 - 64 bit) because I've had some crashes....
PLEASE can you tell us when a 64-bit fix will be issued?
Thanks
Kirsty

479. Re: Photoshop CS6 suddenly a trial version of Extended.
Chris Cox Feb 10, 2013 2:12 PM (in response to KirstyMc)Again, the main issue WAS fixed weeks ago.
If you are using 13.0.2 or 13.1 and up - then get the updates to 13.0.4 or 13.1.2 and it is fixed.
If you are using 13.0.1 - then you have a completely different issue, and need to talk to the installation/activation folks so they can get your system sorted out.
