Steven L. Gotz Jan 25, 2013 5:54 AM (in response to Ann Bens)I think this might be the most concise correct answer I have ever seen. Nice job Ann.
Since montesjesse understood it, he (she?) is obviously an experienced editor who just needed a quick point in the right direction.
This is one the best uses of the forum I have seen. Perhaps the best.
Well done.

3. Re: Creating a Title with Composite Mode
Kevin-Monahan Jan 25, 2013 2:46 PM (in response to Steven L. Gotz)In Premiere Pro, you use the layer order as above and then you apply the track matte key effect to the clip and then select which clip you'd use for the matte.
In FCP, the layer order has the text on bottom and fill on top. You apply the travel matte alpha composite mode to the fill and it chooses the clip below it for the matte.
2 different methods, the exact same result. I do prefer the Premiere Pro method as you have some flexibility with the controls. FCP composite modes don't have any controls.
