I downloaded the digital editions from your site and tried to download books to the software from my public library.  When I clicked download, all it gives me is the "Getting Started" guide but never the book.  I have been working with the library to clear this up and their tech guy guided me through the steps needed but it still doesn't work.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program several times but each time get the same result.  Not sure what to do now.  Can you help me?

I found a similar thread to this same discussion and they suggested uninstalling ver 2 and installing ver 1.7.2.  I did that but it still didn't work.  I then uninstalled ver 1.7.2 and reinstalled ver 2 and it seems to be working now.  I was able to download and transfer books from my library site to the Kobo reader.  I also downloaded a sample book from your library and I was able to open it now.  I don't know what the cause of the earlier problem was but it's working fine for me now.

Which operating system are you using?  What happens when you try to open the ACSM file which is downloaded from the libraries web site?

I am using Windows 7.  We did the file association with the acsm files but every time I click on download it only downloads the getting started guide, and I can't even open the books on my computer within the software.

This seems very strange.  Have you tried opening the ACSM file with Adobe Digital Editions already open?  Can you also try downloading a book from our sample library at http://www.adobe.com/mena_en/products/digital-editions/eBook.html.
