1. Re: ehlpdhtm.js script error - Object doesn't support property or method 'Activate'
Willam van Weelden Jan 24, 2013 2:47 AM (in response to JaredHess)Hi,
Which DHTML effects did you apply to the pages? Only dropdowns/expandspots or did you also use a few more fancy animations and such?
Greet,
Willam

JaredHess Jan 24, 2013 9:31 AM (in response to Willam van Weelden)Hi William. Thanks for responding. That's the strange thing. On some topics, there's no HTML effects going on. For example, take this rather simple topic:
Here's the HTML.
Everytime I refresh this topic (and nearly every single other one) in the CHM file when viewed from my file system, it gives the script error. Previewing the topic is fine. Viewing the CHM from within RH is fine.

3. Re: ehlpdhtm.js script error - Object doesn't support property or method 'Activate'
JaredHess Jan 28, 2013 1:53 PM (in response to JaredHess)Well here's some more info I found out. If I unregister the 64-bit hhactivex.dll the script error goes away. Of course my Glossary tab is grayed out as shown below, so that's not really an option:
Reregistering the 64-bit hhactivex.dll again shows the script errors. Plus, if I then go to my glossary it's completely empty as shown here:
If I copy this help down into a 32-bit machine everything works: the glossary has glossary terms, there's no script errors.
In short, I don't know what's going on, but the script error I'm getting is somehow related to having the 64-bit dll registered.

4. Re: ehlpdhtm.js script error - Object doesn't support property or method 'Activate'
JaredHess Jan 31, 2013 8:32 AM (in response to JaredHess)My co-worker who also has RoboHelp installed is now seeing this script error on a 64-bit file system. Another co-worker who does not have RH is not seeing it. I don't know if RH installed has anything to do with it but maybe.

5. Re: ehlpdhtm.js script error - Object doesn't support property or method 'Activate'
Willam van Weelden Feb 3, 2013 3:26 AM (in response to JaredHess)As far as I could find out, this has to do with the hhactivex.dll (http://www.boostbyreason.com/resource-file-11419-hhactivex-dll.aspx)
Ehlpdhtm.js creates an object invoking this DLL and there is an error in there somewhere. But I couldn’t for the life of me tell you more. (Check the function BsHHActivateComponents in ehlpdhtm.js as that is the culprit.) I advise you take this up with Adobe technical support or report is as a bug.
Greet,
Willam

6. Re: ehlpdhtm.js script error - Object doesn't support property or method 'Activate'
JaredHess Feb 4, 2013 8:26 AM (in response to Willam van Weelden)Thanks Willam.
By looking at the lines of code in the js file, I could see it had something to do with the hhactivex.dll. I did file a bug with tech support last week, but I don't know if they're going to be able to do anything with it. Especially since the problem mysteriously vanished on my end. While I'm glad it went away, I wish I understand why it happened in the first place. The problem manifested itself and then disappeared on my co-worker's machine as well.

7. Re: ehlpdhtm.js script error - Object doesn't support property or method 'Activate'
ranthony22 May 20, 2014 2:02 PM (in response to JaredHess)Hello, Jared and Willam.
I am experiencing the exact same issue Jared reports here--even the exact Line and Char in the error. I've tried the suggestions mentioned and I get the same results as Jared, including the greyed-out and empty glossary tabs.
I've found that I can make the pop-up error go away by commenting out lines 337-355 in the ehlpdhtm.js file, but that does nothing to fix the glossary issue.
For what it's worth, I filed this as a bug with Adobe.
