1. Re: Luma Corrector, HLS and Unsharp Mask video effects dramatically slow rendering
shooternz Feb 5, 2013 11:25 PM (in response to SMG720)Blurs ( unsharp mask) are incredibly processor heavy and demanding effects.
Just a fact.
Would not expect Luma Corrector to be such an issue.
Dont know about HLS.
300 secs is only 5 minutes. Go have a beer or a coffeee.

2. Re: Luma Corrector, HLS and Unsharp Mask video effects dramatically slow rendering
SMG720 Feb 6, 2013 1:46 AM (in response to shooternz)Dude, come on now. At that rate, a 1 minute video would take me 30 minutes to render. Extrapolate that out to a 15 minute video. Bad juju.
Is the video card the bottleneck?

JSS1138 Feb 6, 2013 8:54 AM (in response to SMG720)Uplaod the project and 10 second clip as a ZIP file. We can test on various hardware.

SMG720 Feb 6, 2013 10:07 AM (in response to JSS1138)Perfect, many thanks for this. Upload completed so lemme know what you get. This 10s clip took me 4 minutes to render:

5. Re: Luma Corrector, HLS and Unsharp Mask video effects dramatically slow rendering
Ann Bens Feb 6, 2013 12:25 PM (in response to JSS1138)Might want to recommend another way of uploading like WeTransfer.
So other people can download aswell.
This deposite files is hopeless.

JSS1138 Feb 6, 2013 12:56 PM (in response to Ann Bens)Really? How so? (I already have the file and am opening it now.)

8. Re: Luma Corrector, HLS and Unsharp Mask video effects dramatically slow rendering
JSS1138 Feb 6, 2013 1:05 PM (in response to SMG720)Your media is 1080p/60. Your sequence is 1080p/24.
Correct that.

9. Re: Luma Corrector, HLS and Unsharp Mask video effects dramatically slow rendering
SMG720 Feb 6, 2013 1:12 PM (in response to JSS1138)Thank Jim. I tried it both with a 60p sequence and 24p sequence and my render times were the same. I chose 24p because my final export will be 24p.

10. Re: Luma Corrector, HLS and Unsharp Mask video effects dramatically slow rendering
Ann Bens Feb 6, 2013 1:41 PM (in response to SMG720)Thanks for the dropbox download.
I have a simular system to yours. I set the sequence to 60p.
When I disable the non GPU effects it renders fast.
With the non GPU effects its slow.
So I blame it on the non GPU effects being very cpu intensive.

11. Re: Luma Corrector, HLS and Unsharp Mask video effects dramatically slow rendering
JSS1138 Feb 6, 2013 3:19 PM (in response to SMG720)My export time was cut in half when I put the clip into the correct sequence.
If you wanted 1080p/24, why did you shoot 60p? It won't look right when you're done.

12. Re: Luma Corrector, HLS and Unsharp Mask video effects dramatically slow rendering
SMG720 Feb 6, 2013 7:03 PM (in response to JSS1138)Oh wow, that's quite different than what I saw on my machine. It didn't make a difference at all. May I ask your specs?
I shoot in 60p since I do quite a bit of slow motion and switching between 24p/60p on the camera was going to be a chore. I was planning on having CS6 do the conforming by just dorpping it on the timeline and at times, using Frame Blending to aid the process.

13. Re: Luma Corrector, HLS and Unsharp Mask video effects dramatically slow rendering
JSS1138 Feb 7, 2013 1:24 PM (in response to SMG720)It still doesn't look right. (At least not to me, not compared to a genuine 24p recording.)
