I have a client who has a dealer area and a customer area. Is there a way to:

  1. restrict access to a form or area of the site with user logins/ID (dealer only)
  2. allow different types of registrations for customers and dealers
  3. allow identified dealer to review and modify his order/request/inquiry

This area would be separate from admin.

On another issue,  can BC have forums?  I don't see that feature.

Hi,

You need to look into using Secure Zones.  This feature allows you to require login for any web page that a customer may need accessing.  You can insert a form onto a page and associate the page to a SZ to ensure login is required.  You can make multiple secure zones for the different type of customers and provide access accordingly.  Customers can review existing orders but editing certain customer related data (address, name, etc) using the customer service zones.

BC does have Forums under Modules -> Forums.  However if you don't see this it could be that your plan doesn't provide this feature.

Hi, thanks.   I am investigating BC for a couple of clients.  In my test area, I see forums and the secure zone now, thanks.

I am assuming my clients will be using the eCommerce package, so I think that would include all features, no?

Correct eCommerce plan includes all features.

Just go to modules -> forums within the admin panel to locate the feature.
