Automatic change from Abolsolute link to Relative Link

I am currently creating links in RoboHelp X5. I am creating absolute links. Once I have created the links and then go back into the hyperlink properties the link has defaulted to a relative link using the ..\ (up one folder) function. Is there a default setting I am missing as I have never come accross this before. Any help would be great.

Welcome to the forum

That's the way it has worked for as far back as I can remember.

You can use the web address option if the target is a web site. Otherwise if you type in

\\servername\path\targetfile.xxx

RoboHelp will convert that to

file://servername/path/targetfile.xxx

Would that work for you? Why do you need an absolute path rather than a relative path?
