Flash download is not happening

After I click on run to install flash,  nothing happens.  When I redownload it it says that only one isnstance can run at a time.  2 hours later nothing happens.  I have done several virus scans and they are not picking up a virus.  This is very irratating.  Is this a related problem to me not being able to download any files or watch any videos online and the fact that I am typing in a dialog box and the typing cursor dissapears after a few seconds?

Hello,
Go to task manager.

stop the application in the backend.
go to firefox.
redownload it.
