my computer says I have the updated flash player but no plugins

My computer says I have the updated Flash Player but no plug ins .How can I fix this.When I'm on the gumtree website and try to enlarge the photographs, they wont enlarge Would this have anything to do with plug ins

Hello,

Adobe Flash Player comes as an ActiveX Control on Internet Explorer.

If you are looking for a plug-in then you need to have Firefox.
