Powerpoint 2010 requires me to download the latest flash player in order to play embedded videos from youtube, however I've installed it already and I continue to see the error message and the video won't play. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I might solve this?

Assuming that you are on Windows, did you install the Flash Player ActiveX or plugin?

plugin, since it was the link that the error message led to
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?locale=409&geoid=f4&version=12.0.7601.17514&userlocale=409

I'm not sure what Powerpoint uses; I suggest that you also install the ActiveX (for Internet Explorer) from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

Tried that, unfortunately the error message popped up again and the videos still won't play.

I've tried the latest suggestion at the craigstechblog link and this will no longer work either. Has anyone had any success getting a YouTube video to play in PowerPoint 2010?

Someone in a different topic claimed to have gotten it to work by replacing version=3 with version=2
