I repeatedly install Flash 11 only to be told I need to install it to view video

After apparently successfully installing Flash 11, when I try to view video I receive a message that I need to install Flash 11.  I have uninstalled Flash 11 and tried again with the same results.  Shutting down the computer and trying again has not helped.  My computer meets the requirements for Flash 11.
