Flash Player stops installing

I tried to download Flash Player...it stops downloading at 50% and then requests that I quit internet explorer. I quit internet explorer and make sure it is not running, but...download will not continue and request to quit internet explorer keeps popping up.

Suggestions???

To make sure that Internet Explorer is fully closed, please open your task manager, search for iexplorer.exe in the processes tab, right click on each entry and select "end process".  Once all iexplorer.exe entries have been removed, restart or continue the installer.

Restart your computer and start safemode with networking (click on reboot to F8) install adobe, restart your computer again.

I have since discovered that Flash player is installed and it works when my wife or son logon...but does not work when I am the person logged in...

I can not repeat your situation so I suggest that the only other option (I will now give you an option that would give you and Microsoft's support)
Delete your account and re-create it again (do not forget to save your private data)

or Contact Microsoft (if you have a legal software)
