Kens10 Mar 19, 2013 2:46 PM (in response to Harm Millaard)Harm do you think I should stick with the stock psu, cyberpower didn't list a make and model but it's a
800 Watts - Standard 80 Plus Certified Power Supply
or should I spend $90 extra and upgrade to
1,000 Watts - LEPA G1000-MA 80 Plus Gold Certified

Bill Gehrke Mar 19, 2013 2:50 PM (in response to Kens10)That probably depends on your expansion plans, but generally the "Gold" rated power supplies are preferable.

Kens10 Mar 20, 2013 3:11 PM (in response to Bill Gehrke)In the short term it will mostly be drives and ram. Long term maybe processor and video card. Went ahead and made my order with the LEPA G1000-MA 80 Plus Gold Certified, it has an average efficiency rating of 90% and made by Enermax, and more sata connections. Now I have to wait two weeks for build and another week for delivery. Once here I will run some tests with premiere to see how the system ranks for a decent basic build. Cost was $1700 plus maybe another 16gb ram upgrade and few more drives.
