I am trying to update Flashplayer on Dell PCs using the following OSs & Browsers.

XP Prefessional, XP Home & Windows 7

IE8 ver 8.0.6001.17802

IE9 ver 9.0.8112.16421

Firefox 19.0.2

After downloading the exe file for Flashplayer ver 11.6.602.180

Upon clicking on file downloaded, the installation begins then an error box pops up with

An error has occurred in the script on this page.

Line: 1

Char: 16104

Error: Object expected

Code: 0

URL: http://127.0.0.1:2156/app/_js/adobe.js

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

    Yes No

Then no matter what I do, it pops up with the second error box with

An error has occurred in the script on this page.

Line: 1

Char: 19197

Error: Object expected

Code: 0

URL: http://127.0.0.1:2156/app/_js/adobe.js

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

    Yes No

This has been going on for almost a year now & I am surprised Adobe has not fixed it yet.

I cant remember how I got around this for the last few updates, but this is very time consumming and because I tried unistalling Flashplayer & this error continuing to happen, I now have no Flashplayer.

Is there anyone that can suggest an alternative to Flashplayer?

Kind Regards, Rusty
