Adobe Presenter 8 - audio synch problems

Hi, I am helping a member of the academic staff. She is using Presenter 8, Windows 7 SP1 and Powerpoint 2010 on a Dell Optiplex All In One computer and is utilising the integrated webcam and audio to record a lecture from her desk. This lecturer is experienced in other desk top capture software and has enjoyed the capabilities of Presenter 8. However there is a major voice/video synching problem as her lecture streams. The voice sync becomes progressively worse over time until it is quite noticeably way out of synch. Can you help? We have also tried using a separate webcam with same result.

Thanks

Leslie

Hi lesmac99,

Please check  the following points before recording the new Adobe Video Creator project :-

  • Are your video card driver is up to date? Please check whether you have the latest driver from the manufacturer’s site. Point 2 below will help you in finding the manufacturer’s identity.
  • Are all unnecessary applications closed?
  • Do you have sufficient free space on your hard disk? At least 5 GB is needed, but around 15 GB is recommended.
  • Are your webcam drivers up to date? It is recommended to install the webcam driver from the webcam cd or the webcam company’s site.
  • Are you capturing your video in a well-lit environment? Most webcams perform poorly in bad lighting.

If the issue is still not resolved, please email us the system and GPU/Video Card specifications by following these steps  :-

  • - Click on start button > right click on Computer > click on properties > take screenshot of the system specifications window.
  • - Press (windows key + R) > type dxdiag and hit enter > take the screenshot of the Display tab of the window.

Send us both the screenshots.

Also provide us some information about the camera (camera name, type of resolution – HD/SD ) and the laptop/desktop identification name/no.  you are using for recording the projects.

If you have any other camera  (or internal  camera in your laptop if you are using a laptop), can you please verify whether the same issue can be reproduced.

Thanks,

Vikram

Hi Vikram

Thank you for the suggestions.

I have completed the tests and updates mentioned below but am still waiting for the client to test the recording again.

  • Are your video card driver is up to date? Please check whether you have the latest driver from the manufacturer’s site. Point 2 below will help you in finding the manufacturer’s identity. – Yes driver has now been updated

  • Are all unnecessary applications closed? – have advised client to close all unnecessary apps at next recording

  • Do you have sufficient free space on your hard disk? At least 5 GB is needed, but around 15 GB is recommended. Yes – more than 100GB free

  • Are your webcam drivers up to date? It is recommended to install the webcam driver from the webcam cd or the webcam company’s site. Using the inbuilt webcam only – the test with external webcam was on a loaned device

  • Are you capturing your video in a well-lit environment? Most webcams perform poorly in bad lighting. Yes the area is well lit

After the next recording I will let you know result and include screen shots if it is an unsuccessful test.

Thanks
