1. Re: Need to global find and scale and resize frame on a linked graphic
Eugene Tyson Mar 21, 2013 10:21 AM (in response to E Diane King)First make sure this works by duplicating a file and testing.
Make 1 image the size you need it
Grep search for
Find
~a
Change to
~C
if that doesn't work then try ~c (lower case) I can't remember how that works
If it does work - then you can open 2 documents and choose "All Documents" in the Search field.
If it's fine on 2 docs - then I'd say go ahead and do the rest.
I stress to please use a duplicate set of files in case things go bad.

2. Re: Need to global find and scale and resize frame on a linked graphic
E Diane King Mar 21, 2013 10:24 AM (in response to Eugene Tyson)I wish it was as easy as that, but one thing I failed to make clear was that this is an icon set, not a single icon. There are 19 icons in the set (each on their own artboard in the AI file). If I do the search the way you have suggested, they would all become the same icon in the files.

3. Re: Need to global find and scale and resize frame on a linked graphic
Eugene Tyson Mar 21, 2013 10:30 AM (in response to E Diane King)Why would they?
Have you tried it?
~a is an anchored object
~C is clipboard unformatted
~c is clipboard formatted
Now that I think of it - tha'ts not right - sorry.
For the ~C or ~c to work you need something on the clipboard...
hmmm... stumped on this one... sorry.
I think you check the scripting forum, it might be easily scripted.
