Adobe clearly has a commercial arrangement in place with McAfee to include the download. So it won't disappear until the commercial arrangement ceases.

This arrangement apparently includes placing the onus on Adobe customers to opt out of the McAfee download.

How this arrangement is of any value to any Adobe customer is lost on me but perhaps someone, somewhere has found it useful. Most people just find it irritating and one more thing to click.
