Flash Payer Install

I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled a number of ways and always get a message that installation was successful but Flash will not play videos. My computer dose not recognize Flash. Why won't my iMac, running OS X 10.7.5, recognize Flash Player?

Please check if Flash Player is enabled in Safari.
