I am running Firefox/Aurora 21.0a2 (2013-04-01).  A window shows that I need to install Adobe Flash Plugin and a place to click to install.  I click to install and save the file.  The file is clicked to open and then downloads part way and ends with the message "a newer version already exists...."  It takes me to the Flash Player page and try that installation.  Doesn't work.  Next I go to the Help/Support page (http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html?promoid=ISMRY).  It claims in No. 1 instruction that the arrow points to a box showing my OS and existing version of Flashplayer.  Remarkably the box shows nothing.  I still go to instruction No. 2 which has a button to download and install.

After that doesn't work, I find instructions directing me to uninstall Flashplayer. I use and follow the steps of my RevoUninstaller that removes and scans for leftover files and registry for a complete removal.

I reinstall and same newer version message.  I then use WinPatrol to remove or disable any Adobe file from startup, stop services, or processes.   I go back to Adobe Website, download new installer and the same message appears.  At this point I'm ready to completely remove all Adobe products from my computer which I do.  Guess what?  Same message!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any new suggestions, besides dropping my computer from a tall building would be appreciated.

Thanks, Sandi

Hello Pat,

I was happy for a minute. Yes, I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium Edition

and it is automatically updated. Previously when I'd uninstalled, I looked

at the Control Panel Program menu and RevoUninstaller which I used to

uninstall. It used the application's uninstaller and then scans for

leftover files I have also previously done a computer search using the

word flash and found no evidence of Adobe Flashplayer.

Upon receipt of this email, I followed your instructions and used the

uninstaller from the website you provided.

(1) I used it to unstall AF and it indicated that it was successfully

removed.

(2) I downloaded the installer from the website you provided and ran the

installer for Adobe Flashplayer for other browsers, since I use

Aurora/Firefox exclusively (which is also updated). It failed stating that

"The version of Adobe Flash Player that you are trying to install is not

the most current version. Please visit the Player Download Center to

obtain the latest, most secure version.

(3) I visited the website and installed Adobe Flash Player 11.6.602.180.

It did not install.

(4) I uninstalled again with the same uninstaller mentioned above. This

time, I turned turned off my computer. After restarting, I installed and

got the message that the installation was completed.

(5) I opened you tube and saw the bar across the tope which states:

"Additiomal plugins are required to disply all the media on this page.

And a big red bar which states: "You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash

Player to watch this video. 'Download it from Adobe.'"

Which takes me back to "http://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/" which I have

visited so many times, I've lost count. It is the same download page to

install the "latest" Adobe Flash Player 11.6.602.180.

I just opened Youtube on Chrome and it works. Chrome also states "You have

version 11,7,700,152 installed." However, the chart below states that the

latest version is the 11.6 version. I also just checked IE which I never

use, and it states that the version is 11.6.602.180.

So, it appears that this is a Aurora/Firefox Issue with Adobe Flash

problem.

I would really like to solve this issue as I have Firefox set perfectly to

my needs. If you have any other suggestions, I'd appreciate. I will also

try to address the issue with Mozilla.

Thank you for your assistance. I really appreciate the time you have taken

to help me.

It is always always blank. It never shows any version. Also no version

shown in the Control Panel list of programs to uninstall.

Thanks again.
