Why keeps FlashPlayer repeatedly asking me to install new version?

I have installed the most recent version: 11.6.602.180. My computer has Windows 7, 64-bit, and Internet Explorer 8. I keep receiving a message asking me to install the latest version, which I have done many times, but the message keeps showing up. I have uninstalled and reinstalled FlashPlaye., turning off and restarting the PC. The problem persists. Can anybody help me?
