I don't do much with tables, so I may be wrong, but as far as I can tell the only way to rejoin the table into one column is by using undo. The break character doesn't appear to be accessible within the cell, nor in story editor.

I knew the Break Column key moved a table row to the next page, but only very rarely used it. I thought it would insert the common inverted '^' break character into the text -- but it does not!
Instead, the key suddenly does sort of a meta function: it sets the table row attribute "Start Row" to "In Next Text Column".
Select the very first row in the next column, and check the "Cell Options" dialog, tab "Rows and Columns".

Like Ben, I just hit this problem and you guys saved me a ton of time. Don't think I ever would have thought about the Cell options dialog (not sure I've ever even used it).
