Flash Player will not install on brand new macbook pro.

I have a brand new macbook pro and have attempted installing the flash player many times with safari.  I have adjusted my security settings, gone in as a new user and under safe mode.  Every time, I follow the steps and the installation gets stuck at 7% and then the box simply disappears a minute or two later.  I do not have an older version on the computer; it is brand new.  If you could offer some help, this would be greatly appreciated.
