I run Mac OSX 10.8.3 and when I try to install Adobe Flash updates a warning box informs me "Dashboard Client" must be closed before I can install. I have no idea what this is, and can't even find it on my Mac!

Thank you, Pat, for an informative link. And shame on you, Adobe, for knowing the answer to this (even if your customer base has to teach you the answer), and not incorporating it into the installer or at least stating in the Installer dialog box, "You can quit DashboardClient by using Activity Monitor to quit the Dock, which will immediately re-launch."

I can't believe how lazy Adobe's programming staff has become, and how lamely its QA people are behaving. They are lending credeicne to the late Mr. Jobs's remarks on Flash every week, it appears.

FYI Adobe DOESN'T run Apple, and they've had a long, long, long, long feud over Flash Player (see iPhone). In nearly EVERY case where the DashboardClient needs to be quit, it's because of a widget that uses Flash. I have no additional widgets installed so I've never personally seen this message when installing an update.
