Now my programs will not work

Yesterday my programs worked with Flash 9?, today they said they needed the new flash player. I downloaded it. Now they will not run at all. I uninstalled and tried Flash 10 - they still will not run. I got the info saying it was installed sucessfully. I get this every time I try to update adobe - that is why I hate updating and avoid it at all costs. Any help would be appreciated-

I cannot watch videos on youtube, I cannot play the arcade games on fubar, I cannot watch shows from the TV websites. They tell me I need the updated Flash, even after I have downloaded the 11.7... and it tells me I am currently running with it. That is what I mean by "will not run" - because they won't. I have windows 7.
