i've installed flashplayer 11 sucessfully so it tells me but it isn't installed

i've installed flashplayer 11 sucessfully so it tells me, but when i check to see it's not installed  i've tried 3 times and it says the same thing it's installed but it isn't. what's going on

windows 7 and google chrome is installed according to them when i 've installed flashplayer but i think i'm on explorer  because i click on the big E . sorry new at this!! lol
