Cannot install Flashplayer 11

Running Firefox 10.0 or Safari 6.0.3 with Mac OS X 10.7.5 on 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM I cannot install the latest version of FlashPlayer 11. Previous version of FlashPlayer has been uninstalled and the computer restarted. About 50% way through installation, get Error: General installation error.

Cookies enabled, pop ups not blocked.

Tried many times on both browsers with same results.

The prolem started because I was offered an upgrade for Flashplayer and I didn't have the latest version of FlashPlayer.

Ditto. I was offered the upgrade for Flash player. Downloaded and tried to install several times. Install Failed.
