Mr Eric J Apr 22, 2013 2:25 PM (in response to lesphoto65)I assume these came from a DVD? Was this DVD an encrypted holywood DVD or a home video that you got of something like sky diving? You'll probably need photoshop extended to switch pixel aspect ratios. Or convert them into a format that photoshop understands with a 1.0 pixel aspect ratio. Do you have access to adobe media encoder?

lesphoto65 Apr 22, 2013 3:39 PM (in response to Brett N)This is from my daughter's wedding DVD that the photographer gave her. They are VOB files but I don't know the native aspect ratio. Where do I find that?

5. Re: Trying to edit video but Photoshop cs6 wont open the files.
lesphoto65 Apr 22, 2013 3:44 PM (in response to Brett N)I am so frustrated!!!!!!!! I've been trying to figure this out all day by going to various google searches and getting nowhere. I was finally able to open them in Windows Movie Maker and then save or export as an avi file. But when I opened it in Photoshop it was distorted and the bodys and heads were skinny and tall.

Mr Eric J Apr 22, 2013 3:55 PM (in response to lesphoto65)Maybe consider a free 30 day trial for Adobe Premiere cs6? Or you could download handbreak and save them using the High Profile settings and then try importing them into Photoshop?

7. Re: Trying to edit video but Photoshop cs6 wont open the files.
lesphoto65 Apr 22, 2013 4:20 PM (in response to Mr Eric J)I think I got it. I changed the extension from VOB to AVI. Then dragged it into Photoshop but it looked weird. Then I went to the view>aspect ratio and changed it to NTSC widescreen and it looks good. Only took me 8 hours to figure it out!! Whew!!!!!

8. Re: Trying to edit video but Photoshop cs6 wont open the files.
lesphoto65 Apr 22, 2013 5:33 PM (in response to Mr Eric J)Thanks for your help. This whole thing is very confusing. I think it's
figured out now. I changed the ext to AVI and dragged it into Photoshop
and then changed the aspect ratio. Now it looks descent. Only thing is
I'm seeing a black box around the video. Is that normal and will it be
gone when I render It?
