1. Re: adding new text style
JSS1138 Apr 18, 2013 12:03 PM (in response to robirdman1)A style is something specific in both programs Do you just mean a font?
I've noticed that PP doesn't necessarily show fonts alphabetically. Have you scrolled the entire list?

robirdman1 Apr 18, 2013 1:38 PM (in response to robirdman1)Yes I meant font, and I did scroll down. also missing bickman script that I have in Photoshop.

BingoFriday Apr 18, 2013 1:40 PM (in response to robirdman1)I thought I was missing Arial "Black" until I noticed there is a drop down box below the base font name. Maybe that's it.

4. Re: adding new text style
JSS1138 Apr 18, 2013 1:40 PM (in response to robirdman1)Curious.
If you create a title in PS using one of those fonts, and bring it into PP as a .psd, is it the same font?

5. Re: adding new text style
robirdman1 Apr 19, 2013 10:41 AM (in response to JSS1138)I am not sure how to just create a title in PS and bring it in.
I thought I could compare screen shots and have one of the PP fonts, which look like far fewer than the PS, but I can't use the snipping tool on the font drop down menu as it closes when I go to the snipping tool.
I found I could use print screen though and have the top of the list which shows both the Bablyon Hollow and Bickman script

Here are both for comparison.

Bill Hunt Apr 19, 2013 10:56 AM (in response to robirdman1)I am not sure how to just create a title in PS and bring it in.
- In PS, go to File>New Image, and then choose one of the Video Presets, that matches your Sequence, and a Transparent Background.
- Use the Type Tool to create the Title, as desired.
- Save_As PSD, and Import that into the PrPro Project.
Good luck,
Hunt

robirdman1 Apr 19, 2013 12:20 PM (in response to Bill Hunt)In CS6 if I go to file, I see New, not New image.
don't see video presets.

First line of the dialog is the name. Second line is for presets.

robirdman1 Apr 23, 2013 2:25 PM (in response to robirdman1)How do I get a transparent background?

10. Re: adding new text style
Bill Hunt Apr 23, 2013 4:24 PM (in response to robirdman1)In Photoshop, at New Image, you have a dialog box, that will pop up. One can use the drop-down for the Video Presets. Then, on that same dialog screen, you can choose the Background, and Transparent is what you want.
Good luck,
Hunt

12. Re: adding new text style
robirdman1 Apr 23, 2013 5:30 PM (in response to Bill Hunt)Thanks very much for your help.
I was able to make the PSD document and add to the movie, and the font didn't change.
so that still leaves the question of why I can't access that font directly in PP.

I have a style that shows in Photoshop, but not Premiere Pro.

joe bloe premiere Apr 25, 2013 9:15 AM (in response to robirdman1)...why I can't access that font directly in PP.
Babylonian5 Hollow
Did you mean: Babylon 5 Hollow?
Style vs. Font... two different things.
Mixed terminology has added some confusion to this thread.

joe bloe premiere Apr 25, 2013 12:31 PM (in response to robirdman1)As you can see... I installed the font

Are you on pc or mac?
I am on a pc (CS6.0.3).

19. Re: adding new text style
robirdman1 Apr 25, 2013 9:58 PM (in response to robirdman1)PC. Babylon and Bickman work fine in Photoshop CS6. but they and many others don't appear in PP. I thought they were all supposed to be shared/available.

JSS1138 Apr 26, 2013 9:53 AM (in response to robirdman1)Well, they are for us. Which means, if we presume no operator error here, the issue is probably a local one. (Meaning something went glitchy on your system.)

joe bloe premiere Apr 28, 2013 7:50 AM (in response to robirdman1)Okie dokie... one more shot at this.
Based on your mixed use of terminology (Style vs. Font)...
is it possible you are trying to find the font by
looking in your 'Title Styles' (circled in red)?
If so, you need to look in the dropdown menu under Properties
named 'Font Family' (circled in green).
