on add remove programs have flashplayer 10 and flashplayer 11.7. Is it ok to remove flashplayer 10 without a problem? Thanks for your response!

That is unusual; all earlier versions should be removed when you install a higher version.
I suggest that you use the uninstaller http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html to remove all versions, then reinstall 11.7

Thank you so much for the information, I appreciate you taking the time to help me with my question! Have an old computer, maybe that's why it didn't uninstall! I may just uninstall just that and see what happens! Thanks again!

Thanks Pat I'll follow your suggestion, I have another computer that has Adobe Reader X 10.1.6. It's actually listed twice, the second one has the install date, a recent date, the first is not dated should I uninstall one of them?

On Windows it is quite usual to have two different Flash Player components:
If this is not what you are seeing, I suggest that you do the same on that computer (run the uninstaller, then install 11.7).
