Does McAfee have to be checked "yes" as a default?

In downloading updates for Flash Player, there is alwas a checked box to download a trial version of McAfee Security concurrently.   In order to not download McAfee, you must conciously uncheck the box - or go back and remove the program in the Control Panel if you don't want it.

My preference would be to have the McAfee box there, maybe with a better description of why the program is great (please, convince me!), but I currently don't want it and the check box which I must un-check feels almost sneaky.

I prefer my choice to be positive rather than negative.  Again - please spend your energies convincing me the program is good, not simply throwing it at me where I must step out of the way.
