Just updated from ADE 1.x to 2.0 on a Windows XP, uninstalled older version and chose migrate even though no ebooks in the older version. ADE 2.0 opens fine and works to open and read a downloaded pdf ebook however the 6 standard shelf names to right of shelf icons are all open rectangles for text instead of alpha characters. With the exception of the dropdown menu names File Library Help, all other words in the window are also open rectangles instead of text. I can however create a new shelf and give it an alpha text name and it displays properly. Tried closing and reopening ADE 2.0 but no change. How to fix this to get English text instead of rectangles?
