resdesign Apr 17, 2013 12:25 PM (in response to diehlang)If you have any code for your animation, make sure you use browser specific prefixes like -moz, -webkit, -ms, etc...

diehlang Apr 18, 2013 7:38 AM (in response to resdesign)Thank you. This plays fine in Safari, loads slowly in Firefox, and doesn’t play correctly at all in Chrome:

6. Re: Edge animation doesn't work in Chrome
diehlang Apr 18, 2013 8:41 AM (in response to resdesign)Thank you. Are you able to see the code in Chrome if you go to “View>Developer>Developer Tools?”
If not, should I send the Edge file?

7. Re: Edge animation doesn't work in Chrome
resdesign Apr 18, 2013 9:54 AM (in response to diehlang)No, I cannot see the code. I see that the background slides off right away leaving a white background. Strange.

8. Re: Edge animation doesn't work in Chrome
elainefinnell Apr 18, 2013 10:43 AM (in response to diehlang)Hi, diehlang-
It would really help if you could post a ZIP of your entire project, assets included. I definitely see that the background is loading, but is fading in opacity to 0% in the first second of the animation play.-Elaine

11. Re: Edge animation doesn't work in Chrome
diehlang Apr 18, 2013 12:43 PM (in response to elainefinnell)Hi Elaine,
Would it be possible for you to send me an email to a different address? I am unable to send the zipped folder from this address for some reason, and when I tried to send it to you from my other account I received a failure notice. Perhaps if you send an email to diehlang@yahoo.com I can reply to you and attached the zipped folder.
Thanks so much for your help!

12. Re: Edge animation doesn't work in Chrome
elainefinnell Apr 18, 2013 4:41 PM (in response to diehlang)Hi, Angela-
Your best bet is to upload your project to a service like Adobe SendNow, DropBox, or some similar service, and send me a link via private message. Adobe's mail system blocks ZIP files.
Thanks,

elainefinnell Apr 26, 2013 2:27 PM (in response to diehlang)Okay, I didn't get a Dropbox link. Best thing to do is to click on my name and use the "send a private message" to open up a message box, then copy and paste the link into that box for me.
Thanks,

21. Re: Edge animation doesn't work in Chrome
elainefinnell Apr 29, 2013 5:31 PM (in response to diehlang)Hi, Angela-
I took a look at your project, and I suspect what you're doing is hitting Chrome's render stack limitation. There is an incredible amount of transparency in every single one of your images (all of your cyclist's images are 1024x768), and I think if you crop each one of your cyclist's parts to as close as possible, everything will render on Chrome. This becomes much more important on mobile, but given how many moving parts you have in your animation, you're hitting the desktop limitation as well.
We've seen this before in our previews, and I've just unarchived a response that I think will give you a little more understanding as to why this might be happening:

Hope that helps,

23. Re: Edge animation doesn't work in Chrome
elainefinnell Apr 29, 2013 5:52 PM (in response to diehlang)Hi, Angela-
Another thing to note is that Chrome already seems to have some performance problems while animating just the background. I don't know if you've ever played with the Chrome Tools before, but they are really useful for analyzing both memory allocation as well as render issues. I'm guessing the background is already pushing Chrome to where it's having performance problems.

24. Re: Edge animation doesn't work in Chrome
mvcreatives May 8, 2014 3:02 PM (in response to diehlang)Afterwards, did you have the chance to find the solution to this issue?
I am over a similar problem with Chrome. I've created a multiple composition which is not working in Chrome.
Any advice will be very much appreciated! What's happening eventually is that when when resizing the browse window up above the 698px in height, the backgrounds start to disappear, starting with the sky as this is the first background in depth order, and then it keeps with the same behavior removing the rest of them while you keep resizing the browser window.

25. Re: Edge animation doesn't work in Chrome
Charl2lie Jul 28, 2014 7:38 AM (in response to diehlang)Hello Elaine or Adobe Staff, elainefinnell
We are having a problem with an animation in Edge Animate involving transform and clipping.
Basically, the animation is clipped in Chrome when viewing it, while not in other browsers.
There is a known issue when filters are applied to transformed objects - which would then clip in Chrome.
Chrome: Clipping may occur in browser when a transformed element has a filter applied. (3494343)
Would it be possible for you to have a look to the project and tell us if we are doing something wrong.
As there are no filters, it seems whether an additional issue, or a problem with our project.
Thank you for your time and answer,
it would save us time in order not to find a workaround while letting down this specific animation.
Best,
C.
