    Image Size View

Hi. I am new to CS6 and am still migrating everything over from CS4.

My images do not appear to be 100%. For example, If I create a new document for a custom web banner at

960px/350px The canvas just sems so small. Yes, I am using a macbook pro retina display but if I upload the image to my browser,

it looks like 960x350! The rulers display the correct size but it's just not.

And it doesn't matter what my resolution is set at. It looks almost @ correct if being viewed at 200% but this is driving me crazy as I have

to endure a pixalated view of the image to edit it which seems crazy. I can't see any help answers or forums on this and need help.

Below are the same file @ 100% in PS and then imported @ 100% into fireworks. THANKS!

100% view in Photoshop means that every pixel of your image is being represented by a pixel on your monitor. It is a 1:1 display with no interpolation.

The Mac Retina display has much higher resolution than a normal display, it  meaning denser, smaller monitor pixels, thus a smaller image in Photoshop at 100% zoom.

Image in Fireworks is already pixelated ... do you get the same image when you change the zoom level to 200 % in Photoshop?

I am as concerned about this issue and have spent countless hours now, trying to find a way around this since upgrading via Creative Cloud to 13.1.2 x64 yesterday!

It is absolutely frustrating having to zoom to 200% so you are able to view your design work in actual size. I'm so used to Command + 1 as default for 100% Actual Size, but everything appears 50% smaller. We all understand the explanation given about Retina, etc., but now having to change the way you work in PhotoShop?!!

Is there no way things can be altered so default settings compensate?

              Please advise urgently.

It is a time of transition for web builders. Apple has had a remarkable history of changing industry standards. For the time being I imagine you will have to work with or work around the higher pixel density of the retina display Macs.
