1. Re: I am trying to edit VOB files and Photoshop cs6 ext. won't accept them.
Curt Y May 6, 2013 7:44 AM (in response to lesphoto65)Looking at File Associations in Bridge it does not show VOB file support. I don't think you can just change the extenstion from VOB to AVI. You can however use 3 party software and convert VOB to AVI or some other format. VOB is based on a sub-set of MPEG stream.

2. Re: I am trying to edit VOB files and Photoshop cs6 ext. won't accept them.
Mylenium May 6, 2013 8:26 AM (in response to lesphoto65)VOBs are multiplexed MPEG-2 DVD files and they adhere therefore to the DVD spec - 720x576 pixels, 1.43 pixel aspect ratio. Anyway, you are wasting your time. The files will need to be converted in an external tool to be usable in PS and even then the question is how much sense it makes to edit video in Photoshop, especialyl when it contains audio. Premiere or other edit programs would be much more adequate.

3. Re: I am trying to edit VOB files and Photoshop cs6 ext. won't accept them.
lesphoto65 May 6, 2013 9:50 AM (in response to Mylenium)Thanks very much. Yeah, I guess you're right. I've used a program called Studio 11 to edit video in the past but they too don't accept VOB files. It's just that Premiere looks like it would be a steep learning curve. But I guess it would pay off eventually when I go to edit future videos. Thanks for your advice.

conroy May 6, 2013 10:05 AM (in response to lesphoto65)Maybe Premier Elements would be adequate and easier to learn.

Mylenium May 6, 2013 10:25 AM (in response to lesphoto65)Any ffmpeg-based tools such as Handbrake or MPEGStreamclip can do the trick. and the best part is they're all free.

lesphoto65 May 6, 2013 11:40 AM (in response to Mylenium)Thanks. I'll try one of them. Which format would be the best one to change
to in order to edit the video and keep everything in sync.?

Lundberg02 May 6, 2013 1:46 PM (in response to lesphoto65)take a look at Miro Video Converter. It's easy to use and fairly fast. Wondershare Video Editor is a multipurpose tool also and you should be able to get a discount price.

KeyStudio May 17, 2013 12:39 PM (in response to lesphoto65)I'm also having problems with audio syncing to video in Photoshop. The raw video is fine. Does anyone know if this is a bug in Photoshop? And ideas how to troubleshoot or fix?
