    Batch Processing

I'm a portrait photographer and when I do headshots I send around 35 images to the customer in the way of a slideshow.  But I like to do a little touch up of the skin before I send them off.  So I use skin softening software.  I copy the main layer and do the skin softening but I bring the effect down to 70%, flatten the image and save it to a new folder.  I record all this into an action.  But when I play the action it ends up making that softening layer at 100% instead of 70.  Is there a way to get Photoshop to recognize that I only want 70% on that layer?  I'm using PS CS6 extended and Windows 7 with 16 gigs of ram.    Thanks.

Is it possible you could post a screenshot of the action?

Does this happen when actually running a batch using File>Automate>Batch or even when running the recorded action on one image inside photoshop?

Did you try as an experiment using a different filter in place of the skin softening step to see if the filter might be the cause?

You state you bring the effect down to 70% percent.  Do you do that by fading the effect or lowing the layers opacity,  If you lower a layers opacity in an action the layer's opacity will change. However it you then flatten the image you wind up with a single background layer.  Background layers do not support transparency all background layers are 100% opaque.

I just tried it again and now it's working fine...  I must have been doing

something wrong earlier.  I have another photo shoot on Wed. and I'll try

it again.  Hopefully with no problems.  Thanks for the input , I appreciate

                it.
