1. Re: Cannot save Premiere Pro CS6 project to our server. Keep getting error message.
John T Smith May 7, 2013 7:33 PM (in response to Clare RM)As far as I know, you can't do what you want
No current version of Premiere works properly, if at all, over a network
-see #3 http://forums.adobe.com/thread/771151
-you may NOT "map" your My Documents folder to a network drive
-you MUST give all users administrator accounts to use Premiere
-and especially Encore dual layer http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395
-#5 Server 2008 is UNsupported http://forums.adobe.com/thread/851602
-a work around, of sorts http://forums.adobe.com/thread/957523
-and not on a "domain" http://forums.adobe.com/thread/858977
Adobe Anywhere http://www.adobe.com/products/adobeanywhere.html
http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/pressroom/pressreleases/201304/040413AdobeAnywhere.html
-launched at NAB 2013... final availability expected some time in 2013

2. Re: Cannot save Premiere Pro CS6 project to our server. Keep getting error message.
JSS1138 May 7, 2013 7:35 PM (in response to Clare RM)This is not satisfactory.
But it is the way things often work best. Use all local drives for editing, and the server only for backup.

3. Re: Cannot save Premiere Pro CS6 project to our server. Keep getting error message.
Clare RM May 7, 2013 8:28 PM (in response to JSS1138)Thanks Jim. Can you tell me CS6 Prem Pro work if I save Projects on the workstation or an external drive but source all the media from the enterprise drives on the server? Sorry to be a bother here but if you know what I am asking it may save me wading through a lot of forum threads.
Thanks Clare.

Clare RM May 7, 2013 8:30 PM (in response to John T Smith)Thanks John.
I'll start reading. I'm hoping that we can store all of our media files on the server and save Premiere Pro Projects to the local workstation drives or external drives.
Thanks again for your reply and list of helpful threads.

5. Re: Cannot save Premiere Pro CS6 project to our server. Keep getting error message.
John T Smith May 8, 2013 8:34 AM (in response to Clare RM)As Jim said, keep your "master file" on the server and copy to a local drive for editing... then back to the server
You may want to have your IT person find "check out/in" software so 2 people don't try and edit the same file at the same time

JSS1138 May 8, 2013 7:03 PM (in response to Clare RM)source all the media from the enterprise drives on the server?
Depends on the speed of your server and connection. Generally I recommend moving the media to a local drive before import.
