KAISERSCHNITT Feb 20, 2013 12:15 PM (in response to Jeff A Wright)Wow, would be glad if the future could be VERY close.
The already downloaded installation files should be accessed via AAM after download is finished. I had this problem last week, had to install everything form scratch, and then, there was an Network outage in the middle of the downloads for a few minutes and THERE IS NO RESUME DONWLOAD in AAM!!!Jesus Christ, please, please rewrite this AAM madness from scratch!

10. Re: Allow us to retain AAM downloaded files for reinstallation
Jeff A Wright May 8, 2013 2:57 PM (in response to Firdaus_Emir)Firdaus_Emir the files were downloaded to your temp directory. They may still be available. Depending on the software title though it may not be possible to invoke them to run an installation.

12. Re: Allow us to retain AAM downloaded files for reinstallation
Jeff A Wright May 8, 2013 3:58 PM (in response to Firdaus_Emir)I am sorry Firdaus_Emir but I don't know the exact file name. You can try searching for a file similar to Illustrator_16.
As an alternative, for the moment, please see http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369 for information on how you could download the trial for Illustrator. You could then use the trial to install on the computer with a slow Internet speed. Once installed you will then want to choose the License this Software option and enter the Adobe ID tied to your Creative Cloud subscription.
We are continuing to develop additional options for Users who may face a data cap or slow Internet speeds. As you can actually see from this discussion we have made progress since February with the release of the Creative Cloud packager.

13. Re: Allow us to retain AAM downloaded files for reinstallation
Axiom DeSigns May 8, 2013 5:37 PM (in response to Jeff A Wright)okay I have to chime in here.
Generically to Adobe staff - are you even listening?!? - or simply pretending something totally unrelated to the requirement mentioned by your customers is applicable?Progress??!?
As a system admin in the past - a package installer is great in the old days when you needed to deply a standard install for all your worker bees.
Nowadays being all modern and crap we have a 32gig usb stick that does the same damn thing. Also dvd burners, external drives and blah blah blah. So package installers unless we are corporate are pointless for the average user.
And a package installer is completely NOT what we are talking about.
We would need to figure out all the rules and options and limitations and then make packages that are static and unable to be updated except by making a whole new package - and to do this repeatedly for ONE computer (or even two) is rediculous, and moronic that you would expect the average home user to go through this foolishness when it would essentially take the same time messing about to make the package as it would to just redownload everything.
SO
JUST MAKE A SAVE LOCATION THAT IS NOT A TEMP DIRECTORY.
chripes, just change your app to use c:\adobe\crap and hard code it, and leave it up to us to delete it since it's so ******** complicated for you people to grasp.
why do you persist in overcomplicating every stupid single thing that groups of people ask for ?!?
you spent what - months making your package installer instead of twenty minutes making a permanent SAVE location??!?
please stop being foolish and just make things that work for gawd sakes.
it's not the second comming of 128bit photoshop.
good lord.
It's a ******* "unified downloader".
you take our money and waste our time, and then patronize us.
ENOUGH.
this is getting embarrassing.

14. Re: Allow us to retain AAM downloaded files for reinstallation
Firdaus_Emir May 8, 2013 5:50 PM (in response to Jeff A Wright)why would i want to download a trial? i am an annual FULL SUITE subscriber since subscriptions began (eg: 2010). Previously i got sent the CDs from Adobe, so i did not have to download again and again.
~ all it/adobe needs to do is give us an option to save the installation files we download in an area where we can access again, should we need to install in our 2nd computer (eg: laptop) OR if we had to reformat, etc. -
16. Re: Allow us to retain AAM downloaded files for reinstallation
Jeff A Wright May 9, 2013 8:23 AM (in response to Firdaus_Emir)Axiom DeSigns and Firdaus_Emir thank you very much for the feedback. As discussed we are continuing to develop additional solutions to allow users which may not have access to high speed or have capped Internet access to still utilize the Creative Cloud.
