owiseone61755 May 13, 2013 5:13 PM (in response to John T Smith)"To avoid conforming, use audio editing software, or transcoding software, to convert your files to natively-supported uncompressed formats at the supported sampling rates."
I found this in one of the articles. Can anyone recommend a free program for this? Another solution that would work for me is a free video editing program that I could clip out the portions of the films I need into smaller files. I'm only using 2-3 minutes from each 90-120 minute film. A free program that can preserve the same file type and HD quality of my original source. Any suggestions?

Bill Hunt May 13, 2013 6:27 PM (in response to owiseone61755)If you can use a 3rd party program to Conform your Audio to 48KHz 32-bit floating point, in the PrPro CFA format, that might work.
Otherwise, PrPro will Conform your Audio, creating the PEK (Waveform Display) and CFA (Conformed Audio) files.
If the HDD space is an issue, then I strongly recommend getting more HDD space for the Media Cache files.
Good luck,
Hunt

Ann Bens May 14, 2013 3:34 AM (in response to owiseone61755)You can turn off Automatic Peakfile Generation in the Preferences.
Might reduce some of the filesize.
