joe bloe premiere May 15, 2013 12:58 PM (in response to abe@launchmedia.tv)Hi. I need to convert a PAL mov file exported from Avid...
The codec is currently AVdn.
"AVdn"
This might be a truncated name for the Avid DNxHD codec.
Here is where you can download Avid codecs (free):
Once installed, you will be able to import any Avid codec file
directly into Premiere without transcoding.

joe bloe premiere May 15, 2013 1:19 PM (in response to abe@launchmedia.tv)I know the term in the context of audio...
"wild lines" = extra or alternate off-camera takes from the talent.
I guess there might be a comparative nomenclature in Aussieland?
There are a couple of Kiwis here that might know.

now that you have the Avid DNxHD codecs installed,
they will also appear as an export codec option under
Quicktime codecs in Media Encoder.
