flash player not registering

I have installed and uninstalled and reinstalled flash player several times on my computer but it keeps showing that my flash player needs to be updated.  I have the most up to date flash player on my computer but it is not registering for some reason on pages that uses it.  Please help me.

What operating system/browser are you using?

What version does this page say you have? http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html

Can you provide a link to the site that asks you to update your flash player even though you have the latest?
