Bundle proposals in the near future ?

    LJH Community Member

I'm sure Adobe haven't drawn a line under their initial CC proposal of one App membership or the whole gambit, to do so wouldn't be rational from a marketing or customer loyalty point of view.  Far better to set the ball rolling then analyse feedback and consider future bundles and/or payment policies. Assuming this to be so, is there any indicator as to when Adobe will be issuing the next phase of its Bundle/Pricing arrangements ?

      Thanks.

I'm not aware of any new phase being conceived or planned and I would not get your hopes up but I have zero inside knowledge. Just speculating like everyone else.

The Cloud is a Single App offering or the lot and will remain that way for the foreseeable future.

Thanks John. My guess is this that any such modification and ensuing announcement would take at least 6 months to rollout anyway. I think you would agree that with a model  change of this magnitude and let’s face it Adobe is trail blazing here,  some alterations to its marketing strategy will be inevitable. They are effectively setting the rules for others to follow in the SW industry and there will be a lot attention focused on whether CC and its associated delivery model is a success.

I'm sure other companies will follow soon. What company doesn't want to alienate their user base and make them look for alternatives? You'd be a fool not to offer subscriptions only.

If you look at the CC for Education FAQ,  Adobe appears to offer a CC Web & Design bundle AND a Video Production CC bundle. So they have bundled, tailored versions of CC, just not available to regular customers.

Regardless of the reasons for not presently bundling as was previous in the Creative Suites, it does seem like it would be advantages for Adobe to do so. Perhaps they are hoping to get an initial surge of sales and adoption to the CC by offering "everything" as a subscription model, then when that dissipates they may choose to offer suites to further sales and adoption? As it stands now it seems the present pricing compared to the previous suites is set up to be a better deal for "everything" rather than picking just a few apps. Why that is I don't know, it's rather odd and does not allow people the same ability to only focus on their more specialized sectors like in the past with the Creative "Suites". I guess time will tell.

That is interesting, had not seen that.

What Creative Cloud desktop apps are available through the EEA?

A subset of CC applications are available via Design & Web HED Collection, Design & Web K12 Collection, and the Adobe Video Collection, plus additional add-ons are available (sold separately). For more information, click here.

Why they are not offering similar to professionals by contrast is odd. Perhaps it's for the purpose of boosting initial sales and adoption by offering everything and making that a better economical choice than purchasing 2-3 applications? Not sure about the rational behind it otherwise given the past success of the creative suites.

I guess we could be looking at a standard marketing ploy or 'law of diminishing marginal returns'. Take LCD televisions for example, 5 years ago you'd have paid £1500 for a 46in Sony HD LCD and I'm sure many people did. Now the same set is circa £500 [UK]. Apply that principle to the CC Membership costs and it would make sense to saturate the market with a full bundle price, wait until demand starts to fall off, then offer smaller targeted bundles to capture folks that require a more specialised product. Commercially it makes sense I guess, as you say, time will tell.

Thanks for the input so far.
