We are new to Captivate and we have notcied that on some PC's when they bring up an existing project the caption boxes do not display the full text. On the Storyboard view they look OK, but when you go to the edit screens only part of the text is displayed in most caption boxes. If the user then saves work from this PC we have to go back in and reformat most of the caption boxes. We are having this issue with just 1 of 3 PC's that have Captivate 2 loaded.

Why is this hapening, we have looked for system settings and have changed screen resolutions but nothing solves this problem.

Thanks!!!!!

Hi JIm-RainMaker and welcome to our community

Is it possible that the PC(s) where the problem is noticed simply doesn't have the font specified in the caption installed?

Just a thought... Rick

Rick,

Thanks for the response. I just checked it and all of our caption boxes use Arial fonts, so it doesn't appear to be a missing font issue.

Hi Jim

I just thought of something you may want to check. First, press the Windows key (if you have a keyboard equipped with one of these) and the letter D. The goal is to display the desktop. Then right click and select Properties. Click the settings tab, followed by the Advanced button and finally the General tab. Compare the setting here between working and non-working PCs.

Hopefully this will help some... Rick

Rick,

I'll have to check this firts thing Monday morning. I'm logged onto my work desktop PC via RDP at home and it won't display the advanced setting button while on RDP. I'll let you know as soon as I can. I'll check my notebook with Captivate tonight so I can compare settings.

Thanks,

Jim-

Rick,

My desktop PC was set to 120 DPI font size in Display Properties | Settings | Advance | DPI settings. When I changed it back to Norlam size everything was fine. This is a shame since I really liked my 120 DPI (Large Fornt) settings and never had issues with any other softwrea programs.

Thanks for your help.
