joe bloe premiere Jun 9, 2013 4:27 PM (in response to tfi productions 44)i got cs6 PPRO time warp turned on from the debug menu...all's good there....
Maybe you have run into a reason why
the feature is not enabled by default.

It's an unsupported 'semi-hack'... use at your own risk.

JSS1138 Jun 9, 2013 7:09 PM (in response to tfi productions 44)Time Warp has the same unintuitive and frustrating behavior in After Effects. In order to get it to work properly there, you need to apply the effect to an adjustment layer above the clip. Unfortunately, that little trick doesn't work in PP. I haven't yet found any way to access the full clip with Time Warp applied.

tfi productions 44 Jun 9, 2013 8:09 PM (in response to JSS1138)hello and good evening:
i was just going to start loading the clip into AE...
at this point: my question becomes is Twixtor worth the investment?
none of these 'slo mo' effects seem able to utilize the audio track
which is a bummer...in which case i am trying to create my own work around
and moving the sound of the 'ball against the bat' where ever the image dictates
in the slowed down clip
i am trying to create an efficient workflow to work with a bunch of avchd baseball clips:
fade in, regular motion, time remap -- slow each clip down as slow as possible for the hit,
align the 'ball against bat' hit sound with the unlinked image, time remap back to regular speed, fade out
i prefer to stay in PPRO and not go to AE
i might demo Twixtor
any advice?
as always, i appreciate your help, talk to you soon, cheers, j

Demo version that draws an "X" on each image if you have no key.

You have to apply the Timewarp or Twixtor on either adjustment layer or a precomp when a layer is trimmed and its In point doesn't coincide with the beginning of the footage.
So as to slow down the whole footage you need to enable time remapping for the layer first, extend the tail accordingly and then apply either Timewarp or Twixtor.

tfi productions 44 Jun 10, 2013 11:07 AM (in response to Fuzzy Barsik)hello, thanks to joe for the headsup on the 'x'; it's also an expensive plugin....
@ Fuzzy: do you use both timewarp and twixtor? do you have a preference for which provides better quality by chance?
also, thanks for the directions...cheers, j
also, i would like to stay inside PPRO if possible...

Yes, I do. Twixtor. But not because it provides 'better quality'. Rather it's a bit more convenient. However, most of the tasks, including quite complex ones, can be accomplished by Timewarp. See e.g. this discussion in AE Forum.
also, i would like to stay inside PPRO if possible...
Normally in PrPro duplicating your clip 5 times so as to get the whole footage with speed slowed down to 20% should have worked. I'm not on CS6, hence, I can't check what exactly causes issues for you...

tfi productions 44 Jun 10, 2013 3:16 PM (in response to Fuzzy Barsik)hello, @ Fuzzy: my brain hurts from reading that thread and subsequent links re: AE
i got caught on the mocha tutorial
i just finished reading here:
http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/2/1017510
http://www.imagineersystems.com/compare-products
looks like the cs6 version of mocha is, uh...wow...
current versions of twixtor pro and mocha pro break the bank...
i guess i could charge students money for better grades when school starts back up
gonna do more reading up on AE/PPRO roundtripping, thanks, j
