1. Re: So, even though I'm a fully licensed CS6 user, I don't get all the CS6 features?
John Waller Jun 10, 2013 5:25 PM (in response to dpick2)It's been that way since Adobe first announced the Cloud.
They always said that there would be Cloud only new features. The forums are full of similar discussions.
Are you aware that CS6 perpetual is the end of the line for perpetual licenses? No more boxes. No more discs. No more perpetual licenses.
Everything is going Cloud only from June 17 when the new CC versions (inc Photoshop) are released.

Yeah, I found that out the other day. I didn't know about the "Cloud" only features, however. That was a product for which I had little interest, so I didn't look into it. It really bothers me that I've been with Adobe since PS5, and now I'm dogsh*t. If this had been disgusted (probably, ad nausea), sorry for starting another thread. I'll just take my incomplete copy of CS6 and go home--and stay there.

Not at all. You'd be stuck if you had no options but you've got plenty.
Just join the Cloud like everyone else.
You've actually got a headstart because, as a CS6 owner, Adobe even gives you the entire Cloud and all updates for the first 12 months at $20 per month. Normal price from 2 nd year onwards.
If you don't like the Cloud for whatever reason, cancel your membership within 30 days for a full refund (or let it expire after 12 months) and keep using CS6.

I just found out members of Creative Cloud get many additional CS6 features that are unavailable to "the unwashed masses."
It has always been that way as you should know being a long time PS user. You buy a version and no major features are added until the next version came out, usually about 1.5 to 2 yr. Now Adobe says if you want features added as they are developed you buy into the cloud version. That policy started last year.

Noel Carboni Jun 10, 2013 8:16 PM (in response to dpick2)You seem to feel you're a premium customer because you've paid so much. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case.
It stings to find out that people who pay even more than you do (much more in the long term) do get more in return, but that's today's reality. Adobe plans to use the additional money (besides making executives richer) I'm sure to engineer even more amazing new features. There are already a few coming out with Photoshop CC 14.0 in a week.
By the way, note the first A: on the following page... Until July 31 you can get a single app Photoshop CC subscription for an introductory $9.99 per month if you pay for one year in advance. That's a good enough deal that I'd suggest subscribing, then fall back to your existing Photoshop CS6 13.0 perpetual license after a year, assuming you don't see new features that light your fire to want to continue on at $19.99 / month.
