Need help downloading Flash Player????

I'm trying to download Flash Player and it stop midway installation and says to close all internet files.  There are none open.  Have been through the troubleshooting a dozen times. Any ideas?

sometimes internet explorer hangs in the background longer than it should even after you close it all out.  closing it in the task manager will kill it.
