Why cant people hear me after properly setting up my microphone?

I have tried using different microphones and that doesnt make any difference. People used to hear me but no longer can. How do  I fix that if I follow the procedures to set up a mic

What operating system are you using?

What happens if you right click on the flash instance, click settings, go into privacy tab (monitor with the eyeball on it), and allow the site to access your camera and microphone?

I have vista . I tried our suggestion but no one could hear me

I could hear my voice and see the red bar raising when I spoke then closed. No one could hear me.

Hrmm, you may need to select the correct recording device. 

Not sure if this will work, but please try the instructions in this article under, "How to change the default recording device".
