I keep getting the following error messages when I update from the Photoshop help/update selection
Extension Manager 6.0.6 Update
Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
Adobe Photoshop 13.0.1.2
Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
if you're trying to update ps 13.0.1.2 to 13.1.2,
1. uninstall ps
2. reinstall using adobe application manager.
3. close aam after installation is complete.
4. open ps>click help>update and select 13.1.2. (do not update to 13.0.1.2 first.)

I have this same error. I uninstalled PS then downloaded again and reinstalled. Same result. My PS version is showing 13.0.1.2 as well.

The U44M1P7 error indicates noting more than the update has failed.
Visualtotems you are correct to look at your installation log which displays your particular failure with the update. The error is as follows:

Please follow the suggestion of removing and reinstalling Photoshop CS6.

Jeff, I already did so and got the same result again. However, being this close to the release of PS CC, I may just bide my time and upgrade on release anyhow.
Also, tried the direct update as suggested by the link you provided but no go - the downloads page did not contain the stand alone update for this current version.

Many of the feature bearing updates are only available through the Adobe Application Manager. Odd that you got the file corruption error again though. If you continue to experience difficulties next week you may want to look at the logs for the downloads of the installers themselves. The download logs can be found in the following locations:
On Windows, %temp%\AdobeDownloads\
On Mac, ~/Library/Logs/Adobe/AdobeDownloads/

Jeff, tried again today (still planning to move to PSCC when released) and got the same result, even after reinstalling. These are the files that fail with error DF045:
plugin.dll
boost_threads.dll
"patchTrigger"

You might look at your download logs Visualtotems. You can look use a similar method as looking at the installation logs and do a search on the word error.
