Adobe needs to fix the bug.

wfmc staffer Jun 20, 2013 7:19 PM (in response to joe bloe premiere)I agree that it should have been fixed long ago....
I offer the work around just for users who are dealing with the issue and don't want to transcode.

JSS1138 Jun 20, 2013 8:32 PM (in response to wfmc staffer)This may vary with the camera, but folks have reported a 'gap' of missing frames between files when using this method, so it can be important to leave the folder structure alone and import through Media Browser.

Exactly, Jim - I had this with my Panny 151 some time back, when I tried this, so it does at least not function for all AVCHD cams.

6. Re: CS6 AVCHD spanned media bug - My work around method
mdsunc30 Aug 15, 2013 7:25 PM (in response to Todd_Kopriva)Todd, this update came far too late. Over the past year my workflow was completely shattered because of this bug in CS6. In was forced to purchase a $700 Thunderbolt hard drive because I had to convert all of my footage to ProRes when in CS5 I could edit AVCHD natively without any problem. I could not go back to CS5 because my Matrox MX02 driver required me to use CS6 when using Lion. Not only did this cost me the $700 but also the countless hours spent converting files to ProRes which is not a fast process. I switched over from FCP 7 to Premiere because CS5 edited AVCHD so well. It is not fair to let a bug like this go unfixed for over a year. Please relay to others at Adobe just how important it is to get these bugs fixed in a timely fashion. I'm sure there are other bugs out there that are causing other people much frustration and we appreciate it so much when they are fixed, but when it takes over a year that is far too long.
Mike
