1. Re: Major Bug in InDesign CC
Paradigm1974 Jun 20, 2013 6:31 AM (in response to shookie_d)Many people are having similar problems, caused by different issues. One of the more common ones though is your Fonts (possibly a corrupt font). Remove all fonts to a Temp folder (unless they are part of the OS), restart, and see if it works. If that fixes it, reinstall Fonts as needed.

benwiggy Jun 20, 2013 7:50 AM (in response to shookie_d)I know it's annoying when things don't work, but "something not working on my computer" is not necessarily "a major bug". You'll find people reporting crashes with every version of every software application ever written, while others use them perfectly well.
I would advise deleting the InDesign preferences in <user>Library/Preferences, and also look at the crash log to see if anything there is being mentioned a lot. Remove any third-party software that might be interacting with text. Also, test the problem in a brand new user account. If things work properly there, then the problem is inside your original user account -- a preference, cache file or conflicting process. If it doesn't work in the new account, then you know it's a system-wide problem at the OS level.

angelaZebra Jun 21, 2013 11:39 AM (in response to shookie_d)Yes, I am also experiencing this issue. I will not be uninstalling fonts. I will be uninstalling CC until Adobe releases a corrected version.

angelaZebra Jun 21, 2013 11:44 AM (in response to angelaZebra)Apparently you cannot reinstall CS6 after uninstalling it to upgrade to CC? What are InDesign users to do before the bug is fixed? I have projects to complete today and need working software.

ShaneH Aug 16, 2013 9:13 AM (in response to shookie_d)In Creative Cloud, I've been noticing a lot of updates to "Adobe Scout," "Edge Animate," and a handful of other programs that my department will never use for anything.
However, NOT ONE update to InDesign CC has been issued, despite the deluge of complaints on a dozen or so internet blogs.
The ubiquitous complaint about InDesign CC is that it's just unbearably S - L - O - W.
We've already doubled our RAM on our Mac Pros to 14GB, and have "closed the info panel," which seems to be Adobe's answer to everything.
My department is too far into the CC commitment to be reverting files back to InDesign CS6.
Adobe, please shift your staff resources and make InDesign CC your priority. We need BUG FIXES NOW.

BobLevine Aug 16, 2013 9:17 AM (in response to ShaneH)Each application has its own team of developers. Adobe is well aware
that some users are having issues but to rush a fix out that breaks
something else is not productive for anyone. I am not minimizing the
inconvenience to you, but these things, unfortunately, take some time.
