Mylenium Jun 19, 2013 9:02 AM (in response to tiktiktiktiktiktikt232423)BEX errors are generic binary execution errors, meaning that Windows actually thinks the app isn't properly compiled for 64bit. Could be a driver issue with your SSDs that damages the binary image of the executable, so investigate that and reinstall after you've made sure everything is A&A.

tiktiktiktiktiktikt232423 Jun 19, 2013 9:16 AM (in response to Mylenium)Thanks for the quick reply. I'll look into it some more. I'll probably just install a clean copy of windows and see if that fixes the issue. Never really had a problem like this before so unsure how to problem solve if my SSd's are acting up or not.

davidfranjic Jun 19, 2013 5:04 PM (in response to tiktiktiktiktiktikt232423)Experiencing an identical problem. All other CC applications are working without a hitch, just Premiere Pro CC seems to be crashing on startup.

barcellad Jun 20, 2013 9:15 AM (in response to Mylenium)Same problem here (bex64), but with a geforce gt650M. (and ssd also as a boot drive).
but,
as I can switch between my embeded intel graphic card, and the gt650m, I could notice that it only happens with the nvidia (note: cs6 works fine with both cards).
I updated to last nvidia drivers (320.18) but didn't get any improvement.
I'll try some nvidia settings changes, to find out if one is related to the crash.
if someone has some advice about these settings, he is welcome.

5. Re: Premiere Pro CC Crash on Startup
barcellad Jun 20, 2013 10:01 AM (in response to barcellad)in the report.wer crash log, I could see the last module loaded:
LoadedModule[247]=C:\Windows\system32\nvoglv64.DLL
FriendlyEventName=Fonctionnement arrêté
ConsentKey=BEX64
AppName=Adobe Premiere Pro CC
AppPath=C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC\Adobe Premiere Pro.exe
and this dll is: NVIDIA Compatible OpenGL ICD.
so it is quite an evidence that there is a link with nvidia drivers, at least in my case.
note: dll version is: 9.18.13.2018

Kevin-Monahan Jun 21, 2013 12:04 PM (in response to barcellad)Hi All,
Please try reinstalling the latest driver for your NVIDIA or AMD GPU, then restart the computer. This seems to have resolved most cases we have been seeing.
Thanks,
Kevin

barcellad Jun 22, 2013 4:38 AM (in response to Kevin-Monahan)I'm afraid that re-installing current (last) drivers did nothing else that loosing my previous personnal settings.
So I'm busy for a couple of hours retesting all my applications, but PremiereCC still faces the same issue.

So do you have the Nvidia GeForce GT 640m graphics card too? When you install do you click custom set up and then the option to perform a clean install? It removes all the old settings and installs the new driver.

stach343 Jun 25, 2013 12:41 AM (in response to tiktiktiktiktiktikt232423)I had checked clean install, reinstalled dirivers but this it crashed after aprox. 3 minutes. Still thanks for your help:)

14. Re: Premiere Pro CC Crash on Startup
barcellad Jun 25, 2013 9:17 AM (in response to tiktiktiktiktiktikt232423)in my case, I have a geforce gt650M
I finaly did a clean uninstall of all nvidia drivers.
then re-installed tem.
it indeed removed all my settings (sic) but didn't fix the situation...
Question to adobe engineers: do we agree that if another graphic card is use to start Premiere interface, it won't be able to use Cuda from the nvidia card? Mercury won't work properly.

davidfranjic Jul 1, 2013 12:10 AM (in response to tiktiktiktiktiktikt232423)Still not working for me either- I also have the GT650M graphics card in my laptop. Very frustrating given that this is the primary piece of CC software we need running a production company. I really hope this is sorted out soon!

My problem is identical...I have upgraded the drives to the graphics card on my laptop and it still crashes. If I make the Nvidia card the preferend card for premeire it will crash on start up. If I set the integrated intel 4000 card as the prefered card it will start up but crash within 10 seconds...
Whatever is going on, I need something that works...can you make an older version available in the mean time while this gets sorted out?
PLEASE FIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

26. Re: Premiere Pro CC Crash on Startup
teeravuss Jul 7, 2013 5:41 PM (in response to Finest Studios)I think I found the solution. It is discussed here:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1235582?tstart=0
I updated the driver on my Intel Processor (the integrated intel 4000 card).
You can check to see if your drivers for the card is up to date here: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect
I checked, mine was out of date. After I updated and restarted, Premiere CC worked fine and dandy.

28. Re: Premiere Pro CC Crash on Startup
Finest Studios Jul 8, 2013 12:28 PM (in response to teeravuss)Thanks teeravuss, a Million times!!!
Updating the intel 4000 driver did the trick!
I knew that driver was out of date and I had read on some forum a while ago that it might screw up my computer to update the driver if I didn't get it from my laptop manufature (because they tweak drivers for the additional hardware specific to the laptop model)...but I was desperate and so I went for the update straight from intel. It seemed to work without causing any other problems. In fact it might have even fix another issue I had.
Thanks again for sharing!

thanks to all!

Gustofsun Jul 25, 2013 12:28 PM (in response to Kevin-Monahan)Any suggestions for a Mac user? I can't update my Intel HD Graphics 4000 card in my Macbook here (although I looked, just in case I was really wrong about how these things work.) I've tried trashing my preferences, as has been suggested here, yet Pr CC still crashes as soon as I open it.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Kevin-Monahan Jul 25, 2013 1:23 PM (in response to Gustofsun)Hi Gustofsun,
Sometimes, updating OS X can give you updated drivers for your built in hardware. Can you try that?
Thanks,
Kevin

34. Re: Premiere Pro CC Crash on Startup
Gustofsun Jul 25, 2013 1:40 PM (in response to Kevin-Monahan)I tried doing a system update and it said there were no updates to be found.
And after searching several forums without any answers, I did one of the oldest tricks in the book: uninstall and reinstall.
And yeah, that worked.
What was interesting is that, when I opened up my project, it had a notification saying something to the effect that no applicable GPU hardware could be found for the Mercury Playback Engine and so it would be using the "software only" setting. Which has me wondering if, when I got the CC update two days ago (the day before all my troubles began), a setting got internally switched, making it look for graphics hardware that didn't exist.
Just a thought.
At any rate, I'm up and running again and happy about that.

Les Preiss Jul 25, 2013 6:26 PM (in response to Kevin-Monahan)PP CC crashes on start-up. I updated all my drivers and OS. Laptop is Alienware M17XR4 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M with 16GB RAM. All drivers updated today. Error: "could not find any capable video play modules." Importer quicktime.prm? PP CS6 works fine. Also SpeedGrade CC crashes on start-up. SpeedGrade CS6 works fine.

38. Re: Premiere Pro CC Crash on Startup
Les Preiss Jul 26, 2013 5:04 AM (in response to Mark Mapes)Thanks, Mark. I tried solution 1 and received the same error message: "Adobe Premiere Pro Startup Error
Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again." I made sure Nvidia was selected as only video source being used by laptop. Don't want to mess (solution 3) with the BIOS! SpeedGrade doesn't get as far in start-up as PP CC before it crashes. Tried "Run as Administrator" on it, too. Still no good. Back to CS6 - can't spend more time on this - I've got work to do! -
39. Re: Premiere Pro CC Crash on Startup
cscooper2013 Jul 26, 2013 5:44 AM (in response to Les Preiss)Les, all of the stock processors for your Alienware model come with Intel HD 4000 graphics, as well as the NVIDIA card. Have you tried the previously mentioned, updated HD 4000 graphics driver from Intel?
Also, the 680M graphics card supports Optimus. You'll need to disable Optimus on your system (first method in the article) or at least disable it for Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects (second method).
Let us know if that helps.
